David McCooey at Sturmfrei Poetry Event - July 2016
Sturmfrei 2016 was held at the Studio Underground Bar, State Theatre Centre WA, and featured poets Siobhan Hodge, Amanda Joy, Paul Hetherington and David McCooey.
Sturmfrei was also the launch of UWA Publishing's new poetry imprint, UWAP Poetry. David McCooey appeared at the event, reading his poems, as part of the launch of UWAP Poetry.
This event was held as part of the UWA WINTERarts Festival.

World Poetry Day 2016
On 22 March 2016, World Poetry Day was again celebrated by the Geelong Regional Library Corporation with a reading by poets from the Geelong region who had appeared in The Best Australian Poems series (Black Inc). This year those poets were David McCooey, Maria Takolander, Alyson Miller, Joan Kerr, Brendan Ryan, and Anthony Lynch. Robyn Rowland’s poem was read by Anthony Lynch. The reading at the new Geelong library was hosted by the writer and artist A. Frances Johnson.
